About the Project

DGTRAN (Digital Transformation for Cultural Heritage Capacity Building) is a project aimed at enhancing cultural heritage in Poland, Lithuania, and Ukraine through digital innovation.

It focuses on the visual reconstruction of historic buildings using 3D modeling and Augmented Reality (AR).

The project promotes e-tourism and fosters cross-border cooperation by creating an interactive digital tourist route, “The Belt of Vytautas.”

Castles, history, and young explorers!

4th grade students recently “traveled” across medieval castles of Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine using our interactive map.

It’s amazing to see DGTRAN helping the next generation connect with our shared history! 🇺🇦🇱🇹🇵🇱🇬🇷🇪🇺

On May 27–28, our DGTRAN team came together in Larisa, Greece, for the final management meeting of the project. The event was hosted by our partners at IED Institute of Entrepreneurship Development at the JOIST Innovation Park. It was a chance to look back on everything we’ve achieved and to celebrate the journey we’ve shared.

Волинська Фундація (Volyn Foundation), together with partners from Poland (Uniwersytet w Białymstoku), Lithuania (IERI), and Greece (IED):

🛕 Reconstructed 11 historical sites linked to Vytautas the Great in 3D
🗺️ Created a cross-border interactive tour “The Belt of Vytautas”
📱 Launched a mobile app with AR experiences
🌍 Made it all accessible via www.vytautasbelt.eu

During the final meeting, we reflected on the results, shared lessons learned, and discussed ideas for the future. DGTRAN may be ending, but the partnerships and impact will go on.

A huge thank-you to all our partners, and especially to our hosts in Larisa, for your commitment and collaboration! 🇺🇦🇱🇹🇵🇱🇬🇷🇪🇺
